Larkin Community Hospital (LCH) has been selected as one of five organizations nation-wide to participate in the National Center for Trauma-Informed Care (NCTIC) initiative sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA). This is a Pilot Hybrid and Onsite-Technical Assistance program from NCTIC-Virtual Learning Network, which focuses on successful implementation of Trauma-Informed Practices in government organizations, hospital health systems, and service systems.

 

Larkin Community Hospital was the only hospital in Florida to incorporate the program’s principles hospital-wide in 2012-2013, and has been selected due to their continuing success in incorporating trauma-informed principles. The initiative is consistent with the hospital’s efforts to integrate innovative and successful approaches to treating patients who have experienced trauma. Implementation of Trauma-Informed Practices differentiates Larkin Community Hospital as an organization that provides compassionate, holistic treatment approaches to identify and cure the underlying causes of pathology for a disease, leading to positive patient outcomes.
