Mehrdad Ghoreishi, M.D., is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon; he is the co-director of aortic surgery and medical director of cardiac surgery research at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Dr. Ghoreishi specializes in adult cardiac surgery and has a special clinical interest in aortic surgery. Under his leadership, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute is establishing a new Center for Aortic Care, which will be the first of its kind for the health system. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Ghoreishi was co-director of the Center for Aortic Disease at the University of Maryland Medical System and associate professor of cardiac surgery.

Dr. Ghoreishi earned his medical degree and completed a general surgery residency at Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. After finishing his general surgery training, he joined the Cardiac Surgery Research Fellowship Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
