Carina A. Marrero, MHA, serves as chief operating officer at Memorial Hospital Miramar, where she oversees the hospital’s daily operations and provides executive leadership for its support and ancillary departments.

A Memorial team member for 27 years, Marrero began her career as a CT technologist after discovering her passion for healthcare through HOSA in high school. She credits Memorial’s commitment to developing its employees with helping shape her leadership journey. Known for her collaborative, transparent and servant-oriented leadership style, she keeps patients at the center of every decision.

“My advice is to focus less on chasing titles and more on building a strong foundation through every opportunity you’re given,” Marrero said. “Every experience builds the skills, relationships and perspective needed to become an effective leader.”
