JUNE 29, 2026 – TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – LeadingAge Southeast, the premier association serving high-quality senior living providers across the Southeast, is pleased to announce the addition of Kelley Mitchell as State Director of Alabama, and Leslie Morgan as Membership Coordinator of Alabama. Together, Mitchell and Morgan will support the Association’s efforts to strengthen member engagement, advocacy, education, and operational support for aging services providers throughout Alabama.
The new team members reflect LeadingAge Southeast’s continued commitment to delivering exceptional service and resources to members while expanding its presence and impact across the region.

Their familiarity with Alabama providers and the challenges they face positions them to make an immediate impact for our members. As we continue to strengthen our presence in Alabama, Kelley and Leslie will play an important role in ensuring members receive the personalized support, advocacy, education, and resources they need.”
As State Director of Alabama, Mitchell will serve as the primary liaison between LeadingAge Southeast and its Alabama members, leading efforts related to member engagement, advocacy, education, disaster preparedness, and membership growth.
Mitchell brings extensive leadership and regulatory experience in the senior living and long-term care field. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the Assisted Living Association of Alabama (ALAA), where she became known for her collaborative leadership style, strong member relationships, and commitment to supporting providers across the state. During her tenure, she strengthened collaboration between the Association and state regulatory agencies while serving as a trusted resource on regulatory compliance and operational issues affecting assisted living communities.
Prior to leading ALAA, Mitchell served as Director of the Assisted Living Regulatory Unit for the State of Alabama. In that role, she oversaw registered nurse surveyors, participated in administrative hearings, provided regulatory education at conferences, and worked closely with the Alabama Department of Public Health on updates to assisted living regulations.

As Membership Coordinator of Alabama, Morgan will provide operational, administrative, and member engagement support while helping coordinate events, communications, advocacy efforts, and membership services throughout the state.
Morgan brings nearly 20 years of experience in the long-term care and health care industries across both the public and private sectors. She began her career with AIMS Benefit Solutions before joining the Alabama Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services, where she assisted with the implementation and expansion of the Alabama Trauma & Health System.
She later transitioned to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s Assisted Living Facility Regulatory Unit, where she worked closely with providers and industry stakeholders for many years. Most recently, Morgan served with the Assisted Living Association of Alabama, further strengthening her relationships and experience within Alabama’s senior sector.
“I’m excited to join LeadingAge Southeast and continue supporting the providers who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults every day,” said Morgan. “I look forward to working alongside our members and helping ensure they have the resources, information, and support they need.”
Together, Mitchell and Morgan bring decades of combined experience in health care, senior living, regulatory affairs, member engagement, and association management. Their expertise will help further LeadingAge Southeast’s mission of supporting providers across the continuum of aging services while advocating for policies and resources that improve the lives of older adults.
