Free Health screenings, EKGs, immunizations, and car seat safety education
February 19, 2025 — Lee Health is proud to announce a free community health fair on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Colonial Elementary school cafeteria, at 3800 Schoolhouse Rd., Fort Myers. This health fair is open to all ages and offers health screenings, car seat check-ups, health education, immunizations and other helpful community resources.
Health fair screenings will include:
- Blood sugar screenings
- Blood pressure screenings
- Lung cancer screenings
- Breast cancer screenings
- Prostate cancer screenings
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs) by Who We Play For
There will also be lung health education with a giant inflatable lung, pediatric developmental screenings and information, translators, Beasley’s Paw Prints and Harry Chapin Food Bank food distribution, and car seat safety education.
Additionally, Valerie’s House and representatives from Florida Gulf Coast University will be on site as well as dental signups for the March Ronald McDonald Dental Bus.
Fort Myers Middle School, along with Colonial and Franklin Park Elementary Schools are Community Partnership Schools where a set of community partners collaborate to provide community resources to students and families.
Lee Health, the School District of Lee County, United Way and Florida Gulf Coast University are all focused on four pillars, which include expanded learning, wellness supports, family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership. By focusing on these pillars, the community can work to address barriers to success, such as hunger, poverty, lack of access to adequate healthcare, lack of educational support and other challenges.
