March 4, 2025 — Lee Health is proud to announce the Minnesota Twins baseball team was officially recognized as the first sports organization to receive the Partners in Wellness distinction. This initiative directly aligns with Lee Health’s mission to foster healthier lives for all, further supporting Southwest Florida businesses, organizations and communities that promote health and wellness in the community.
Since 2016, the Twins organization has hosted an annual, large-scale community health fair as part of their Open House event. This initiative connects residents with health and wellness information through Lee Health. The event features valuable health information on topics such as heart health, nutrition, fall prevention, and brain health.
Additionally, the Twins host regular blood drives at the Lee Health Sports Complex in support of local blood banks.
In February 2025, the Minnesota Twins, alongside Family Initiative, Lee County, and Lee Health, opened the region’s first Sensory Friendly Suite at the Lee Health Sports Complex, giving individuals with special sensory needs a place to go while attending Twins Spring Training baseball games.
In addition to impactful community events, the Twins organization is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of their players and staff. Through comprehensive physicals and wellness programs, they ensure everyone is prepared to perform at their best before the start of spring training in Southwest Florida. These efforts reflect the Twins’ ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of health, performance, and overall well-being within the organization.
The Partners in Wellness program supports participants by connecting them with healthcare providers and offering preventive health screenings.

The Partners in Wellness program aligns with Lee Health’s mission to foster healthier lives. Launched in 2022, the program highlights local communities, businesses, and organizations that take an active role in enhancing the health and wellness of their residents, employees, and groups through a variety of wellness programs and activities.

In 2024, the Partners in Wellness program recognized NeoGenomics Laboratories Inc. and the Lee County Government as the first two employers to be awarded the honor. Since then, LeeSar, the City of Fort Myers, and Quail West have been recognized as Partners in Wellness.
To achieve the Partners in Wellness recognition, organizations, employers and communities actively implement a range of wellness initiatives, including meeting annually with Lee Health representatives to assess needs and plan wellness activities, hosting health education events, organizing health fairs or screenings, and connecting community members to healthcare services provided by Lee Health.
