October 26, 2024 – Leon Medical Centers today marked the official opening of its state-of-the-art supercenter in Homestead with a day of celebration and fanfare. The vibrant multicultural event drew hundreds of local residents, members of the Leon Health community, and civic leaders from across South Florida. Festivities included a lively parade featuring mariachis, a Brazilian batucada, a Cuban conga line, and a Junkanoo band.
In addition to the parade, attendees enjoyed live entertainment on two stages, sampled offerings from seven local food trucks, and mingled with Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Willy Chirino, a South Florida music legend and LMC spokesman. They also participated in free health screenings, healthy living lectures, and guided tours of the new facility.
“It was a spectacular way to celebrate this momentous occasion, and we are humbled by the amazing turnout,” said Benjamin Leon, Jr., Chairman and Founder of Leon Medical Centers. “We pride ourselves on providing medical excellence and personal attention to our patients. By offering a wide range of services under one roof, we’re making it easier for them to access the care they need, when they need it. It is truly an honor to commemorate this milestone with the Homestead community and our Leon family.”
The 49,000-square-foot supercenter, which replaces a previous LMC Homestead location, offers a comprehensive array of services, including urgent and primary care, cardiology, oncology, neurology, endocrinology, urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, pain management, physical therapy, dentistry, an on-site pharmacy, lab services, a wellness and fitness center, and advanced diagnostics like CT scans and x-rays.
“The new supercenter is a game-changer for our patients,” stated Caridad Bello, Homestead Supercenter Administrator. “It allows us to bring all the essential services they need in one location, making their experience more convenient and streamlined. We are honored to offer this level of care to our patients in this vibrant, multicultural community. Today’s celebration highlighted the community and our deep appreciation for their trust in Leon.”
Beyond providing top-tier care, the facility will serve as a hub of innovation and wellness for the region.
The grand opening event was free and open to the public. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked an exciting new chapter for Leon Medical Centers, which serves nearly 40,000 Medicare patients at eight centers throughout Miami-Dade County as it continues to expand its accessible healthcare network across South Florida.
