May 27, 2025 – In recognition of May as Older Americans Month, the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (AAABC) will honor exceptional Broward volunteers, 60 and older, for their contributions to the community at the 41st Annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast on Thursday, May 29 starting at 9 a.m. at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel located at 1230 South Pine Island Road in Plantation.
The 2025 Hall of Fame Election Committee, led by Broward County Mayor Beam Furr, selected 13 local candidates for induction: Sandra Atkins, Timothy G. Curtin, Barbara Effman, Helena Friedman, Susan Gilbert, Juanita Gray, Linda Hill Anderson, Mona Malbranche, Melinda Montgomery, Dr. Irving Rosenbaum, Zeff Ross, Reverend Jessie Scipio, Jr. and Doris Tarlow.
“We are honored to shine a spotlight on 13 extraordinary volunteers whose dedication and compassion have left a lasting mark on Broward County,” said Charlotte Mather-Taylor, CEO of AAABC. “Their commitment to service uplifts our community, and we welcome everyone to join us in celebrating their inspiring contributions at our 41st annual event.”
These outstanding volunteers will be recognized at the Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast made possible by generous partners, including gold sponsors Aetna, the City of Miramar and Memorial Healthcare System.
