Broward County Health Department Administrator, David Roach announced the appointment of Beverley Nelson-Curtis, M.D., FAAP as the new Medical Executive Director for the Broward County Health Department.

No stranger to the South Florida community or the Broward County Health Department, Dr. Nelson-Curtis is former in-house Medical Director of Pediatrics at Broward General Medical Center and was a Primary Care Physician at BCHD in the early 1980’s. Dr. Nelson-Curtis received her Doctorate of Medicine Degree from Downstate Medical Center’s, School of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

Dr. Nelson-Curtis is a statewide Physician Consultant for Medical Foster Care and Medical Director for Special Needs Shelters for Children’s Medical Services. She is also actively involved in several community organizations including Camp Boggy Creek, a camp for Special Needs Children located in Eustis, Florida and a member of the Youth and Families Board in the city of Coral Springs, where she resides.
