Memorial Healthcare System recently named Leah A. Carpenter, BS, RN, MPA, administrator and chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital Miramar in Miramar. Most recently, Carpenter had been administrator and chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital Pembroke, in Pembroke Pines. She has been part of the Memorial Healthcare System for the past eleven years.
 
Carpenter earned both her master’s degree in Public Administration and bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Throughout her years as clinician, she has specialized in women and children’s healthcare, with a special fondness for neonatal intensive care. Prior to joining Memorial Healthcare in 2001, Carpenter served as director of maternal and child health at Saint Clare’s Health Services in Denville, NJ, and as vice president and chief nursing officer at North Shore Medical Center in Miami.
 
Carpenter serves as the board chair of Pembroke Pines YMCA, board member of the Broward County American Diabetes Association, member of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association and the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce.
