It was a passion for patient care that motivated Macie Shea to become a nurse and begin that part of her healthcare journey nearly three years ago. Since that time, she has become a valued member of Memorial Regional’s surgical services department, serving as a resource nurse for robotics, gynecological procedures, and kidney transplants.
“Macie’s dedication to patient care and commitment to Memorial Regional Hospital have fueled her professional growth in our department,” said Prisca Duclos, director of Surgical Services Clinical Operations. “We’re proud to have Macie as part of the team.”
Shea’s connection to Memorial actually dates back to 2017, when she was a volunteer in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). She then pursued an education in surgical technology and became a sterile processing technician prior to beginning nursing school.
