Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

APRIL 11, 2025 – West Palm Beach, Fla., – The Mental Health America of the Palm Beaches’ Mind & Body Connection 5K was a fun-filled morning of running and walking while creating places for people to find belonging and purpose.

Nearly two hundred people gathered in West Palm Beach’s Dreher Park on the morning of Saturday, March 22, 2025.  Individuals had the opportunity to either run the 5K or enjoy the 0.75 mile walk with friends and family, while garnering encouragement and support for growing and building a fulfilling life and overcoming obstacles. Those who were unable to attend in person had the chance to participate virtually while still making a difference!

“This event is a very small piece of what we do on a daily basis,” shared Andy McAusland, Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health America of the Palm Beaches. “Bringing together individuals to show support and raise funding to provide services for current and future clients is something that is always so incredible to be a part of. We are thrilled with the outcome and grateful to everyone involved!”

Following the run/walk, attendees were treated to post-run snacks, live music and an awards ceremony after the race. All registered participants received a race shirt and medal.
