The $430 million, 445,000-square-foot Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida, has opened its doors.

Led by renowned cancer surgeon and researcher Michael J. Zinner, M.D., the four-story facility located on the Baptist Hospital campus consolidates clinical services, cancer research, and technology platforms under one roof. Miami Cancer Institute provides patients from the community and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean access to some of the most sophisticated treatments in the world as well as clinical trials. It is among a handful of centers in the nation and the first in South Florida to offer proton therapy, which beams radiation directly to a tumor to destroy cancer cells while avoiding healthy tissue.

As Florida’s only member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, Miami Cancer Institute brings unparalleled discoveries and cutting-edge research right here to South Florida.
