October 1, 2019 – Michael (Mike) E. Maroone, South Florida philanthropist and business leader, has been named Chair of Cleveland Clinic Florida Regional Health System’s Board of Directors. The Board was established to provide strategic oversight as Cleveland Clinic continues to expand across the state of Florida.

“Mike Maroone and his family have been an integral part of Cleveland Clinic Florida and its expansion for many years now,” said Wael Barsoum, MD, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic’s Florida region. “As we continue to grow our current operations and expand into new regions, the need for a Board to oversee all operations was essential, and Mike’s leadership and experience makes him the perfect fit for the prestigious role.”

Throughout his career, Maroone has demonstrated the importance of giving back to the local community by leading many fundraising campaigns and corporate philanthropic initiatives.  At Cleveland Clinic, his leadership resulted in major enhancements and enterprise expansions, propelled cancer research and care, and supported access to high-quality care in South Florida.

“Cleveland Clinic’s unique model of care and patient-centered approach has brought so much value to our Florida communities,” said Maroone. “I’m proud to be part of this organization, and it is my honor and privilege to lead the Regional Board of Directors alongside esteemed healthcare and community leaders.”
