As a long-time supporter of breast cancer health and early detection, National City Bank has provided a $50,000 gift to support the purchase of a digital mammography machine for the new $73 million regional hospital the Health Care District of Palm Beach County is currently constructing in the Glades. The donation was presented to Glades Healthcare Foundation, which is leading the fund raising campaign for the new hospital.

Digital mammography will provide better detection and diagnostic capabilities and allow physicians to generate images in seconds. The technology provides the added benefit of magnifying, manipulating and sharing images electronically not possible with traditional film-based mammography systems currently in use at Glades General.
