June 27, 2022) – Dedicated to public healthcare, the North Broward Hospital District Board (NBHB) of Commissioners, which oversees Broward Health, opened their hearts and wallets to collectively raise $21,145 in support of the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC) signature fundraiser, the Waterway Soirée.
NBHD Board Chair Stacy Angier, who also proudly serves on CDTC’s Board of Directors, challenged her fellow commissioners to help raise much-needed funds for the non-profit that annually serves more than 10,000 clients in Broward County who have special healthcare needs.
Chair Angier’s call-to-action was met with compassion and generosity by her fellow commissioners. Commissioner Jonathan Hage stepped up announcing that he would offer a match of $10,000. Commissioner Hage’s generous wager incentivized the board to not only meet but to exceed the goal.
“It is a privilege to give back to the community and work alongside such a tremendous group of generous and supportive leaders,” Chair Angier said. “I asked, Commissioner Hage challenged us, and our board came through. The winners are the children and families in our community who need CDTC services the most.”
Ana Calderon Randazzo, Ph.D., executive director of Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center, affectionately calls the gift “Angier’s Angels.”
“We are so grateful for the continued support of Chair Angier and the entire board of commissioners,” Dr. Randazzo said. “They are truly passionate about our mission and care deeply about meeting and exceeding the healthcare needs of all in our community.”
The Angier’s Angels were not alone in raising money for CDTC. Bravo TV Below Deck star Captain Lee Rosbach, who is also a CDTC board member, kicked off a summerlong series of fundraising events for the non-profit, spearheading a team-style digital fundraising campaign with the Captain’s Crew.
The in-person Waterway Soirée Dock & Dash, a luxury dockside cocktail reception and silent auction, was held along the dock at Pier Sixty-Six Marina in Fort Lauderdale. During the Waterway Soirée dinner series, which continues throughout the summer, a guest can host an intimate gourmet wine and dinner party for up to eight aboard a luxury yacht.
