North Shore Medical Center has modernized its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to improve patient experience. Updates included new Quartz countertops, wood cabinets with self-closing mechanisms in the nurses’ station to reduce noise, electronic faucets, conveniently located water outlets for dialysis machine connections and freshly painted walls. The changes were a result of the increased admissions the ICU has seen within the last year. North Shore’s administration team, ICU director and physicians celebrated the completion of the renovations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
