Caring for sick patients hits close to home for Kirsten Buckler, M.S.N., R.N., the assistant nurse manager of the pediatric Emergency Department at Broward Health Medical Center.
“I was inspired to be a caregiver by the nurse who took care of my father when he was battling leukemia,” Buckler said. “She left me with three lessons: to be compassionate, caring and provide optimal wellness to my patients.”
Buckler has worked for Broward Health for nearly 14 years. She is responsible for seeing incoming pediatric patients based on the level of injury and illness, conducting health assessments and providing education to patients’ family members.
“I am proud to work beside such an amazing team to provide encouragement and enjoy their wins when they flourish within their career and aspirations,” Buckler said.
Bucker earned her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Broward College and her master’s from Nova Southeastern University.
