As a quality data specialist at Memorial Healthcare System, Brittany Laviano’s role is to track clinical information that can be used to improve outcomes. “Our focus is then on developing new and innovative ways to support patient care and safety while also developing tools to help nurses better understand the changes we’re looking to implement,” said Laviano, a nurse for more than 14 years.
The opportunity to spot trends that quantify what works and what doesn’t is something Laviano takes pride in, since it helps clinical team members improve processes and procedures. The emphasis on learning and improvement has always been a priority for her, and why she has always worked with high-acuity patient populations. “The complexity of their cases allows us to push the limits of our knowledge and improve our nursing skill sets. It’s an exciting environment to work in.”
Laviano was born at Memorial Regional Hospital and grew up in Hollywood before starting her career at Fort Myers-based Lee Health.
