Nicole A. Gonzaga Gomez, DNP, MS, CRNA, ARNP, CHSE, is a candidate for induction as a 2024 Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA). The 2024 induction will take place during the Awards and Recognition Luncheon on August 3, during the AANA Annual Congress in San Diego, California. Dr. Gomez is an Assistant Professor of Clinical and Associate Director of the School’s Nurse Anesthesia Program. FAANA designation distinguishes Dr. Gomez as a premier anesthesia provider with a high level of skills, training, experience, achievement, and professional standards. She has a vested interest in teaching and learning modalities with peer-to-peer mentoring in simulation-based education. Her publications have centered around innovations for simulation in healthcare and for nurse anesthesia clinical practice improvements. She was co-principal investigator on a mixed-reality Magic Leap™ collaboration addressing operating room/airway fires in simulation-based education. She is active in state, national, and international professional organizations.
