Festive celebrations welcome new team members to the Orlando Health family

Orlando Fl, – October 1,2024 – Today, Orlando Health assumed majority interest in Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama. The occasion was marked with festive celebrations across the Brookwood Baptist Health network, including simultaneous receptions at each of the five hospitals in the system. Beginning today, Orlando Health, a private, not-for-profit healthcare organization, will manage day-to-day operations of Brookwood Baptist Health in partnership with Baptist Health System. Baptist Health System will remain as an owner in the partnership and will continue to be a faith-based organization.

With our proven track record of successful expansion lifting the care at our partner hospitals, we are dedicated to making this healthcare system the best in the state and beyond.”

In recognition of the historic day, simultaneous celebrations were held during different times of the day at all five hospitals so all team members could participate. Brookwood Baptist Health team members were able to meet, interact with and ask questions of current Orlando Health team members, human resource representatives and leadership. Thibaut van Marcke, David Strong, president and CEO, Orlando Health and Amy Allen travelled to all five hospitals to personally welcome Brookwood Baptist Health team members to the organization.

Orlando Health branded decorations embellished the main event areas. Morning (6:30 am – 9:30 am), lunchtime (11:30 am – 1:00pm) and evening (4:30 pm – 7:30 pm) events included time-appropriate food and beverages. More than 70 non-hospital locations received a “Celebration in a Box” that included Orlando Health branded snacks and candies. All team members will receive a commemorative coin to mark the day. Registered in-patients also received a note from Mr. van Marcke and a special branded wellness kit in recognition of the day’s significance.
