January 9, 2024 – Orthopaedic surgeon and spine specialist Kalman D. Blumberg, M.D. has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Blumberg is a member of the American Medical Association, Broward County Medical Association, Broward County Orthopaedic Society, Caducean Society of Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida Medical Association and Florida Orthopaedic Society.
Dr Blumberg has exclusively focused on surgery of the spine for the last 30 plus years. He diagnoses and treats all conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, including degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, tumors of the spine, sciatica, back and neck pain.
Since 2009, Dr. Blumberg has been a physician with Florida Spine Specialists with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Marathon and Key West. He also previously was affiliated with Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Imperial Point in Fort Lauderdale and Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West.
The Miami native graduated from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree with research distinction. He then completed an internship in the department of surgery followed by a residency in the department of orthopaedics and rehabilitation, both at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, and a fellowship in spine surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He graduated cum laude and with departmental honors from from Tulane University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and completed some of his undergraduate coursework at Vanderbilt University, University of Florida and Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.
Dr. Blumberg has contributed to numerous publications and was a frequent lecturer and presenter on several orthopaedic topics including back pain, spine surgery and more.
