November 6, 2025 – Oviedo Medical Center, part of HCA Florida Healthcare, is celebrating the official opening of its newly completed fourth floor, marking the final milestone in the hospital’s multi-phase expansion project and reinforcing its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the growing community it serves.

Hospital leadership, staff, and community partners gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the achievement and recognize the team members who made this significant milestone possible.

“This expansion represents our promise to grow alongside our community,” said Cameron Howard, CEO of Oviedo Medical Center. “The opening of our fourth floor enhances our capacity to care for patients while furthering our mission to provide exceptional care close to home. I’m incredibly proud of our team for making this vision a reality.”

The expansion project includes several major enhancements to patient care:

  • Newly opened fourth Floor: Now home to all medical/surgical patients, providing additional space and comfort for those recovering from illness or surgery.
  • Expanded Labor & Delivery Unit: Growth onto the third floor allows for more families to welcome their babies right here in Oviedo.
  • Larger Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Expansion to 24 rooms ensures advanced critical care capacity for patients with complex needs.
  • Additional Operating Rooms: Seven operating rooms will be complemented by two additional ORs, set for completion by the end of the year.

With the completion of the fourth floor and final expansion phase, Oviedo Medical Center continues to strengthen its role as a trusted healthcare provider for Seminole County and beyond—offering advanced medical, surgical, and maternity services in a modern and healing environment.
