August 8, 2025 – Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is the first hospital in the Southeastern United States to utilize the SOUNDSTARR CRYSTAL Ultrasound Catheter in a procedure. The milestone procedures were completed by electrophysiologists Dr. Matthew Klein and Dr. Matthew Kolek.

The SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL™ Ultrasound Catheter represents a significant leap forward in intracardiac imaging technology. Powered by an 88-element phased linear array, the device delivers superior image quality, allowing clinicians to visualize tissue with greater clarity and confidence.
Key benefits of the SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL™ Catheter include:
- Enhanced Imaging Quality – Superior intracardiac images for clearer tissue visualization.
- Optimized Flexibility & Stability – Improved maneuverability and control during procedures.
- Seamless Integration – Fully compatible with the CARTO™ 3 Mapping System for efficient workflow.
- Advanced Visualization – Enhanced far-field imaging, blood-to-tissue contrast, and tissue definition for greater procedural accuracy.
“This milestone is another example of how Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center invests in cardiovascular innovation,” said Erik Cazares, CEO of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. “By being the first hospital in the Southeast to offer the SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL™ Ultrasound Catheter, we are providing our physicians with the tools they need to perform complex procedures with even greater precision, ultimately improving outcomes for our patients.”
