Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center (PBGMC) announced that Cyndi Shamy has been named as Director of Surgical Services.

Shamy brings a wealth of knowledge to PBGMC with more than 15 years experience in the nursing field. She began her career in Orlando, where she cared for patients after they had undergone open heart surgery. Since then, she has been a rounding nurse for cardiology patients, has managed a neurosurgery service within a hospital and has been an operating room manager at a busy, Level 1 Trauma Center.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. She is currently a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses
