The Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute (PBNI) nearly doubled its size since August with the addition of eight doctors – a physiatrist, stroke doctor, internist, neurologist, and cardiologist. They join the existing team of interventional neurologists and neurologists, adult and pediatric neurosurgeons, adult and pediatric neuropsychologists, and neurophysiologist, currently on-staff. Since opening this past January, PBNI has grown to 15 physicians.

Arun Venugopal Talkad, M.D., joins the staff at PBNI and three local hospitals with an emphasis on community outreach through EMS stroke education, acute stroke treatment and decreasing door to treatment time. Dr. Talkad is certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and he specializes in neurology and vascular neurology. He is a stroke neurologist with an ongoing commitment in educating the community of how important time is in the treatment of a stroke victim. His fastest door to needle time, the time it takes for a stroke patient to receive clot-busting medicine, is only five minutes (the national average is about 75 minutes). Dr. Talkad is the new Stroke Medical Director at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and also on-staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Good 
Samaritan Medical Center. He has been practicing medicine since 2001.Claude Oster, D.O., F.A.O.C.R.M., brings over five decades of experience to PBNI as a physiatrist specializing in osteopathic, rehabilitation, and pain management medicine. Dr. Oster is currently the Medical Director at St. Mary’s Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute, and also on-staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Dr. Oster’s areas of interest include neurorehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, brain trauma rehabilitation, and spinal cord rehabilitation. He also focuses on caring for and rehabilitating patients with musculoskeletal injuries and nervous system diseases. Dr. Oster has been practicing medicine since 1962, and is bilingual (English and French).

Martha L. Zambrano, M.D., has been with Tenet Florida Physician Services since 2009 and recently joined the PBNI staff as an internal medicine and primary care physician. Dr. Zambrano’s areas of interest focus on diabetes, hypertension, and women’s health. She is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and on-staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, and St. Mary’s 
Medical Center. Dr. Zambrano is bilingual (English and Spanish) and has been practicing medicine since 2005.Brian Steingo, M.D., is a neurologist with Sunrise Medical Group and visits PBNI with a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Steingo is certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been practicing medicine since 1973.

Suneet Kukreja, M.D., is a cardiologist and stroke/lipid specialist joining the staff at PBNI with a focus on areas of interest that include hypertension, neuropathy, and echocardiography. Dr. Kukreja is certified with the American Board of Cardiology, American Board of Echocardiography, American Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing medicine since 1991 and is bilingual (English and Hindi).
