June 15, 2023 – Palm Beach resident David S. Mack will serve as the new chairman of MorseLife Health System, according to Keith A. Myers, President and CEO of the premier senior lifestyle community.
“David’s longstanding friendship, commitment to MorseLife and philanthropic efforts have been invaluable to our organization,” said Myers. “We are excited to welcome him as our new Chairman and look forward to witnessing his positive impact in the coming years.”
Mr. Mack’s devotion to MorseLife runs deep. His father, H. Bert Mack, along with a couple of his friends, recognized the incredible need for a state-of-the-art healthcare facility for the elderly in Palm Beach County. They became original founders of what has become MorseLife Health System.
David Mack is a senior partner and Vice President of The Mack Company, a real estate development firm headquartered in Fort Lee, N.J. and Scottsdale, Ariz. Since 2004, he is a former Director of Mack-Cali Realty, now Veris Residential, and served as an Advisory Board member from 1997 to 2004.
Currently, Mr. Mack serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York. Previously, he was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York for three terms and a member of the Board of Directors and Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for two terms. In addition, he served as Vice Chairman on The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Board for 12 years. For 14 years, Mr. Mack was Deputy Superintendent, the rank of Colonel, of the New York State Police. He is also a member of the Board of the United Nations Development Corp. of New York.
Mr. Mack received his B.A. degree in business administration from Hofstra University, where he serves as a member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of Northwell Health and a former trustee of North Shore Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital System and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Pratt Institute.
In addition to his new role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the MorseLife Health System, Mr. Mack is also on the Board of Directors of the Kravis Center, Palm Beach Civic Association and the Fellowship of Christians and Jews. He is a member of Palm Healthcare Foundation, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Town of Palm Beach United Way and is Chair of the Federation Liaison Committee of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach. Mr. Mack is a member of the Board of Governors of Palm Beach Country Club where he serves as President of the Foundation, Chairman of Community Relations and as a member of the Admissions Committees.
Mr. Mack is the First Assistant Commissioner of Nassau County Police Department, First Vice President of Palm Beach Police Foundation and Undersheriff Executive Assistant for Governmental Affairs for Palm Beach County, Fla.
While Mr. Mack and his wife, Sondra, divide their time between N.Y. and Palm Beach, they have been instrumental in the growth and success of MorseLife. Their contributions are exemplified by the Sondra and David S. Mack Short Term Rehabilitation Pavilion, which bears their name on the MorseLife campus.
