November 3, 2022 Cardiologist Patrick Azcarate, M.D., joins Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute Cardiology Group, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Azcarate specializes in general cardiology, cardio-oncology and imaging. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute Cardiology Group in 2022, Dr. Azcarate completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Diego. He graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and joined the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his internal medicine residency and a clinical research track at the University of California San Francisco.

At UCSD, Dr. Azcarate continued his passion for teaching and was awarded the Cardiology Fellow of the Year Award in 2020. He participated in clinical research on heart failure and cardiac sarcoidosis in addition to writing book chapters and presenting at conferences. He is boarded in echocardiography and nuclear imaging. Recently, he shared his interest in cardio-oncology as a guest speaker on a cardiology podcast where he discussed radiation-associated cardiac disease. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow in Training.
