Joseph P. Corallo, M.D., serves as the vice chief of staff at Broward Health Coral Springs, is the director of the hospital’s Center of Excellence in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery and a member of the core faculty for Broward Health’s general surgery residency program.

Board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Corallo specializes in robotic, laparoscopic and open surgery, as well as complex endoscopy. With nearly 25 years of experience, Dr. Corallo has received numerous awards and honors, authored textbook chapters and contributed to national presentations in the field of surgery.

“The ability to make a tangible difference in my patients’ lives—whether through minimally invasive techniques, advanced laparoscopic procedures or innovative treatments—is incredibly rewarding,” Dr. Corallo said. “The human body is complex, and the field of colorectal surgery allows me to continuously learn, evolve and push the boundaries of what is possible to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.”

Dr. Corallo received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in psychology from Rutgers University and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his general surgery residency and colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the University of Miami and Jackson Health System.
