Dr. Avraham Schlager, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified pediatric general surgeon on staff at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at St. Mary’s and Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at West Boca. He is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at Florida Atlantic University Schmidt College of Medicine.
He specializes in advanced minimally invasive surgery, pediatric oncologic surgery, complex neonatal surgery with prenatal counseling, thyroid surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, and pectus excavatum (Nuss procedure).
Previously, Dr. Schlager served as Surgical Co-Director of the Pediatric ICU and Trauma Medical Director at Akron Children’s Hospital, where he was also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at NEOMED. He completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Emory University and his general surgery residency at NYU Medical Center.
A published researcher and presenter, Dr. Schlager has contributed to medical textbooks and served as a reviewer for multiple surgical journals. He is a member of several professional organizations and is bilingual in English and Hebrew, with proficiency in Medical Spanish.
