CLEWISTON, FL – September 29 — Since 2017, the Pink Warrior Fund has invested nearly $250,000 to ensure women in our community receive life-saving breast health services. These funds have covered the cost of mammograms, screenings, and biopsies for women who are uninsured or underinsured—helping them access quality care close to home.
This year, the 9th Annual Pink Warrior 5K Walk will take place on October 11 in Clewiston, FL, with approximately 350 participants expected, including 23 breast cancer survivors from communities surrounding the Lake. The event’s shirts feature the message “Fight Together,” highlighting the towns that support the Pink Warrior Fund’s mission: Clewiston, LaBelle, Belle Glade, South Bay, Pahokee, and Moore Haven. All proceeds from the walk benefit local women through the Fund.
In addition to the walk, the community is invited to enjoy a variety of fundraising events, including:
- (10/01) Signature Drinks at Cottage Under the Oaks, LaBelle, FL
- (10/10) Scenic Rides aboard the Sugar Express, Clewiston, FL
- (10/18) Pink Your Pumpkin at LaBelle First Baptist Church, LaBelle, FL
- (10/18) Pahokee Pink Walk – “Muck, Sweat & Cheers!”
- (10/23) BINGO at Clewiston Elks, Clewiston, FL
- (10/27) HRMC Bake Sale – Open to the Public
“Each year, we see how much of a difference these efforts make in the lives of local women and families,” said Tammy Angell, Physician Practice Manager of Hendry Regional Convenient Care Center. “Thanks to generous community support, we’re able to provide critical screenings and diagnostic services for women who might otherwise go without.”
The impact of these efforts extends beyond funding. New breast health equipment, now available in both Clewiston and LaBelle, is transforming care for patients—making screenings more accurate and accessible than ever before.
Throughout the year, HRMC performs an average of 165 3D mammograms each month, ensuring access to vital care for individuals who are underinsured or uninsured. During the month of October, HRMC is offering a special 3D Mammogram Screening for a one-time fee of $120.
The Pink Warrior Fund invites the community to walk, celebrate, and honor survivors, while helping ensure that no woman faces breast cancer without access to the care she needs.
