Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Daniel Sutphin, M.D., recently joined Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. Dr. Sutphin earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons holding several professional certifications, Dr. Sutphin is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has extensive postgraduate training, including a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where he served as a microsurgical fellow and clinical instructor in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Sutphin’s specialty interests include oncoplastic and implant-based breast reconstruction; management of breast implant complications such as capsular contracture and rupture; body contouring after massive weight loss; periocular surgery including blepharoplasty and ectropion management; and the management of soft tissue and cutaneous malignancies including melanoma, Merkel cell and squamous cell carcinomas.
