Private Palm Beach County Grantmaking Organization Funds $275,000 to its Stronger Communities Initiative
July 21, 2025 – WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – The board of trustees for Quantum Foundation, under the chairmanship of William Meyer, recently approved 26 grants totaling more than $3.25 million for Palm Beach County-based nonprofits.
Quantum Foundation’s mission is to inspire and fund initiatives that improve the health of Palm Beach County residents. The health foundation was formed from $125 million in proceeds from the sale of JFK Medical Center. Now in its third decade of community investment, the foundation has assets of approximately $170 million. Since its inception, Quantum Foundation has awarded $175 million to hundreds of Palm Beach County nonprofit grantees. Every dollar the foundation grants stays in the county to benefit local communities.
Of the grants allocated for the first and second quarters of 2025, $275,000 was granted through the foundation’s Stronger Communities Initiative (SCI) in West Palm Beach. Quantum Foundation’s board and local city leaders have recognized decades of disparities rooted in racial inequities and underinvestment in West Palm Beach’s Northwest, Coleman Park, Pleasant City, Northwood Hills, Pinewood Park and North 45th Street communities. These neighborhoods routinely experience limited opportunities and shorter life expectancies for their residents. Quantum Foundation’s SCI grants will address these challenges by targeting social determinants of health, the medical and non-medical factors that influence an individual’s healthand investing in initiatives led by local nonprofit organizations working to uplift the community’s well-being.
“Nonprofits are up against many challenges, including forecasting the needs of our community, adjusting to federal funding and stretching their dollar to create the greatest impact for the people they serve,” said Eric Kelly, president of Quantum Foundation. “We are honored to fund our local nonprofits – especially those qualifying for SCI grants in these specific neighborhoods — as they respond to their calling and support some of the most vulnerable populations in Palm Beach County. We trust that they will steward each and every grant to improve the health of our neighbors and to instill hope across underserved communities.”
The SCI grants are made for one-year and are designed to focus on key neighborhoods in the SCI focus area. One of the seven grants that represents SCI funding includes Rose Trolley, which underscores the crucial role of transportation in community well-being. The nonprofit serves underserved communities and shuttles families to school, distributes food and hygiene kits, provides rides to church, and connects residents to mental health resources.

STRONGER COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE (SCI) GRANTS: All are one-year grants supporting organizations serving the SCI focus neighborhoods in West Palm Beach.
Health Council of Southeast Florida ($50,000) – Palm Beach Gardens
Quantum Foundation’s grant will support the program’s peer-led outreach to connect 1,000 residents to critical health information and services. Health advocates will conduct four workshops on chronic disease and diabetes self-management and help 50 individuals access care and social resources.
Inner City Innovators ($50,000) – West Palm Beach
Inner City Innovators will scale its Hope Dealer Mentoring Program to guide high-risk youth away from violence and toward stability in SCI neighborhoods. With Quantum Foundation’s funding, 50 young men will receive weekly group mentoring and intensive one-on-one support focused on healing, personal growth and life planning.
Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County ($50,000) – West Palm Beach
Quantum Foundation’s funding will support Legal Aid’s probate assistance, estate planning and workshops to protect homes from foreclosure and displacement. Ten residents will receive direct legal support, while 20 more will complete estate plans, and 30 first-time homeowners will gain the tools to maintain and protect their properties.
RISE Coleman Park ($25,000) – Riviera Beach
Quantum Foundation’s grant supports RISE’s larger strategic plan to increase neighborhood engagement and elevate community-led solutions for health, equity and resilience. As a result, RISE Coleman Park will strengthen the impact of five grassroots organizations working to improve well-being in the Coleman Park neighborhood.
Rose Trolley ($65,000) – West Palm Beach
Rose Trolley will expand its micro-transit program to connect SCI residents to essential services—offering 3,200 free rides to local medical facilities, job sites, schools and grocery stores. With a focus on equity and economic mobility, Quantum Foundation’s grant addresses transportation as a key social determinant of health.
Student ACES ($25,000) – Palm Beach Gardens
With Quantum Foundation funding, Student ACES will engage 30 high school athletes living in the SCI neighborhoods in a leadership program that builds confidence, emotional resilience and civic responsibility. Participants will explore career opportunities, especially in healthcare—while completing milestones across wellness, academics and community service.
U.B. Kinsey Educational and Community Center ($10,000) – West Palm Beach
Quantum Foundation’s grant will help U.B. Kinsey Educational and Community Center expand outreach efforts to connect residents in West Palm Beach’s Northwest neighborhood with critical health and social services. Building on its role as a trusted community hub, the initiative will launch targeted digital campaigns, host local events and create feedback channels to ensure residents are informed and engaged.
Other grants in the Q1+2 2025 grant cycle include:
Center for Trauma Counseling ($50,000) – Greenacres
The Center for Trauma Counseling will expand its Mobile Hope Clinic to provide free, trauma-focused care to uninsured and low-income residents. Quantum Foundation’s funding will support eight counseling sessions each for 35 individuals.
4KIDS of South Florida ($200,000) – Boca Raton
The program will serve eight or more children who will receive individualized care plans, supported by trained foster parents, therapists and wraparound services. Quantum Foundation’s funding will cover operating costs and staff a dedicated mental health therapist, helping reduce the county’s reliance on group care facilities.
Bella’s Angels ($35,000) – West Palm Beach
With Quantum Foundation funding, Bella’s Angels will provide mental health counseling at no cost to 48 families caring for children with lifelong disabilities. The initiative includes therapy, peer support and training to build emotional resilience and improve family well-being.
Caridad Center ($1,002,000) – Boynton Beach
With multi-year support from Quantum, the clinic will strengthen its culturally responsive model and continue serving as a vital health resource for the community.
The Children’s Place at HomeSafe ($18,588) – Boca Raton
With Quantum Foundation’s funding, HomeSafe will enhance emergency preparedness at all 12 of its group home and office sites by installing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). All 149 staff will be (re)certified in CPR and AED use, ensuring rapid, informed responses to cardiac or medical emergencies.
Community Health Center of West Palm Beach ($425,000) – Riviera Beach
With Quantum Foundation’s support, the center will fund critical staff positions and maintain stable operations, ensuring uninterrupted access to care for some of the area’s most medically underserved residents. The Community Health Center of West Palm Beach will provide 5,000 free primary care visits annually to 1,500 low-income, uninsured patients.
Diabetes Coalition of PBC ($48,000) – Riviera Beach
With Quantum Foundation’s support, the initiative will screen 900 individuals and deliver evidence-based education to at-risk groups including women, seniors and youth—empowering residents to take control of their health. Funding will help the organization in offering rapid A1C and cholesterol testing, along with prevention and self-management courses in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
Eda & Cliff Viner Community Scholars Foundation ($80,000) – Boca Raton
The Eda & Cliff Viner Community Scholars program will provide eight high school graduates from underserved communities with comprehensive four-year college scholarships to pursue healthcare careers. The Quantum Health Professions Scholarship will give priority to Black male students to address racial disparities in the healthcare workforce.
Education Foundation of Palm Beach County ($150,000) – Lake Worth
Quantum Foundation’s funding will support behavioral health technician training and up to five industry-recognized certifications. By building foundational skills in middle school and expanding career options in high school, this initiative strengthens the local healthcare pipeline and improves post-secondary readiness for thousands of students in underserved communities.
El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center ($50,000) – Jupiter
With Quantum Foundation’s funding, El Sol will grow its trusted Promotores de Salud (Community Health Promoters) program to connect 250 low-income residents in Jupiter with vital health services and education. The initiative focuses on breaking down language and cultural barriers through peer-led workshops, personalized support and monthly health events such as screenings and vaccination drives.
Feed the Hungry Pantry ($47,100) – West Palm Beach
Quantum Foundation’s funding will help maximize the facility’s potential and strengthen the fight against hunger in Palm Beach County as the pantry upgrades to its 5,500-square-foot warehouse. Support will allow for improvements, including racking systems, pallet jacks and insulation— enabling the organization to serve 8,000 more individuals each year.
Global Healthy Living Foundation ($80,009) – West Palm Beach
The CreakyJoints Clinic, run by the Global Healthy Living Foundation, delivers free, bilingual rheumatologic care to 110 uninsured or underinsured patients each year. Quantum Foundation’s funding will support clinical staffing, lab services and program coordination—ensuring continued access to specialized care for those who need it most.
Grandma’s Place ($60,000) – West Palm Beach
With Quantum Foundation’s support, Grandma’s Place will fund essential staff and operations to continue offering this one-of-a-kind service—giving families much-needed relief and stability, by providing 500 hours of emergency respite care and therapeutic programming for 75 children with developmental disabilities.
Holy Ground PBC ($59,750) – Riviera Beach
Quantum Foundation’s grant will support academic and vocational coaching, ACE counseling and evening childcare for 12 mothers and six children. The mothers will receive life skills training, therapy, transportation assistance, and career development services, while their children engage in trauma-informed care to build coping and emotional regulation skills.
Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County ($50,000) – West Palm Beach
The Housing Leadership Council of PBC will work to tailor and implement its county-approved Housing For All Plan to develop affordable, deed-restricted housing. With a focus on zoning reform and community investment, Quantum Foundation’s grant accelerates action to meet the region’s affordable housing shortage and improve long-term health through stable housing.
Project Opioid Florida ($45,000) – West Palm Beach
Project Opioid Florida will lead a comprehensive overdose prevention effort in Palm Beach County, aiming to distribute 30,000 naloxone kits and train 10,000 people in life-saving response techniques. Quantum Foundation’s support will drive program development and expand community outreach to help reduce opioid-related deaths countywide.
Nurse-Family Partnership ($30,000) – Wellington
This evidence-based home visitation program pairs registered nurses with first-time, low-income mothers from pregnancy through their child’s second birthday. Quantum Foundation’s grant supports personnel, training and educational materials for nurses to deliver high-quality care to vulnerable families.
West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition ($50,000) – Delray Beach
Quantum Foundation’s funding will support staff coordination and capacity building to strengthen partnerships, increase community engagement and help raise an additional $200,000 to expand the initiative’s reach and impact.
West Palm Beach Housing Authority ($500,000) – West Palm Beach
Quantum Foundation’s grant will support pre-construction architectural and engineering costs and lay the foundation for a community anchor that reduces barriers to healthcare access and fosters stability. The center will provide access to OB/GYN, pediatric and behavioral health services alongside housing support.
