Open Houses Offer Inside Look at “Home Away from Home” for Families in Medical Crises
July 16, 2025 – In celebration of National Healthcare Hospitality Week (NHHW), Quantum House is hosting two Open House events on Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to highlight the essential role that healthcare hospitality homes play in supporting families with critically ill children. These events are part of a national initiative led by the Healthcare Hospitality Network, honoring the organizations that serve as “homes away from home” for patients and caregivers – helping to ensure families feel supported during life’s hardest challenges.
Quantum House opened nearly 25 years ago on the campus of St. Mary’s Medical Center to serve a need that was previously not addressed in Palm Beach County. As an independent nonprofit, Quantum House relies solely on the generosity of the community for its operating costs. Guests staying at the House are relieved from the stress and financial hardship that is often added to the trauma of illness or injury. No one is turned away because of their inability to pay. As the only facility of its kind between Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, Quantum House serves families from around the world and is open to all families regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, religion or socioeconomic background. Guests at Quantum House stay with their families in 30 beautiful suites. The campus serves over 1,200 family members annually.
To honor NHHW, Quantum House is inviting nurses, doctors, case managers, medical professionals, community partners and supporters to tour the campus, enjoy complimentary Jersey Mike’s sandwiches, meet staff and guests and hear firsthand how the House is a valuable resource to local and visiting families during medical crises.
NHHW recognizes healthcare hospitality houses across North America that play a vital role in ensuring families can stay together in a comforting, supportive environment while facing medical challenges. Locally, the Quantum House campus is thoughtfully designed to provide all the comforts of home with 30 family suites, kitchens, spacious dining areas for shared meals and connections with volunteers and other families.
“Our mission is about more than a place to stay, it’s about providing emotional and practical support during a time when families need it most,” said Greg Quattlebaum, CEO of Quantum House. “These Open Houses give the hospital staff and public a chance to see that impact in action.”
The events are free and open to all. Please RSVP by July 17, 2025 to Megan Santana at msantana@quantumhouse.org. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. To learn more, visit www.quantumhouse.org.
