Joseph Corallo, M.D., is the Vice Chief of Staff at Broward Health Coral Springs and the Director of Colorectal Center of Excellence.

He chose colorectal surgery because it offers a meaningful opportunity to impact public health. In experienced hands, colorectal patients often achieve excellent outcomes, which he finds deeply rewarding.

“Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in men and women and the second highest cancer related cause of death in both. Many cases are preventable through screening,” Dr. Corallo said.

Delivering high quality colorectal care in a community setting is his daily inspiration.

“My biggest motivation comes from the relationships I form with my patients and seeing them long term,” said Dr. Corallo.

Dr. Corallo earned his medical degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed both his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at University of Miami.
