Dr. John Roberts is a distinguished cardiothoracic surgeon with decades of experience in advanced thoracic care. He graduated summa cum laude from Duke University and earned his medical degree with honors from Yale University before completing his surgical residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He went on to complete fellowships in surgical oncology and thoracic surgery and held academic leadership roles, including chief of general thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University.

Today, Dr. Roberts is on staff at Delray Medical Center, where he serves as vice chair of the hospital’s robotics committee and Medical Director of Thoracic Surgery and specializes in minimally invasive lung cancer treatment and other thoracic malignancies, including esophageal cancer and thymic cancer. Using advanced robotic technology, he performs precise biopsies and robotic-assisted lobectomies through small incisions, reducing pain and shortening recovery time. This technology can be used in any disease of the chest.
