Dr. Faris Azar serves as the Trauma Medical Director at St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering the highest level of care to critically injured patients. A graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, he completed his internship and general surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital before pursuing advanced fellowship training in trauma and critical care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
With extensive experience in complex critical care, Dr. Azar manages patients across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including trauma, emergency surgery, and other acute medical and neurological conditions. He is highly skilled in performing life-saving surgical interventions and guiding patients and families through some of their most challenging moments.
Beyond the bedside, Dr. Azar is deeply committed to academic medicine. As an Associate Professor at Florida Atlantic University, he plays an active role in educating and mentoring residents and medical students, fostering the next generation of physicians through hands-on teaching and clinical leadership.
