Jessalyn Artis, R.N., BSN, CNRN, Clinical Specialist and Stroke Program Coordinator at Broward Health North, has dedicated more than 20 years to advancing stroke care.

Artis discovered her passion for nursing as a teenager when her younger brother was hospitalized. Watching nurses care for both patients and families inspired her commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate, family-centered care. She remembers thinking, “What is this? I want to be a part of this.”

She earned an associate degree in nursing from Broward College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University, where she is now completing her master’s degree. Throughout her 21-year career at Broward Health North, Artis has gained experience in neuro telemetry, trauma, orthopedics and step-down units.

Today, Artis leads coordinated stroke care from Emergency Medical Services through recovery, using data-driven strategies to improve outcomes while supporting patients and families at every stage of their journey.
