Exclusive March gathering to support family medicine services on-island and Golisano Children’s Hospital

Jan. 9, 2026 – SanCap Cares has announced the 26th Annual Island Celebration, an exclusive evening planned for March 4, bringing together philanthropic leaders from Sanibel and Captiva to support critical healthcare initiatives serving island residents and children across Southwest Florida.

For more than two decades, SanCap Cares has represented the collective generosity of the island communities. Founded in 2001 by a group of committed Sanibel and Captiva mothers, the organization has raised more than $18 million in support of Golisano Children’s Hospital while responding to evolving healthcare needs throughout the region.

“This event reflects the power of thoughtful philanthropy rooted in community,” said Justin Brand, senior director of development for Lee Health Foundation. “Island donors have long understood the importance of giving to strengthen both local access to care and specialized services that support families beyond the islands.”

This year’s event will advance two complementary priorities within Lee Health: pediatric care at Golisano Children’s Hospital and Lee Health Sanibel Primary/Walk In Care. Together, these initiatives underscore a shared commitment to ensuring exceptional, accessible care for island residents while sustaining lifesaving pediatric services for Southwest Florida families.

The evening‘s program will highlight the impact of island philanthropy, as well as offer a silent auction supporting critical needs at Golisano Children’s Hospital and a mission-focused fund-a-need benefiting the Sanibel clinic. Guests will enjoy featured wines, dinner, and shared support in a refined island setting.

This year’s event is presented by Florida Trust Wealth Management. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available for community members interested in making an impact in advancing healthcare on the islands and beyond.
