Signature HealthCARE, a family-based organization, is revolutionizing the long term care industry through innovative programs including its Department of Spirituality and Chaplain programs. Currently, Signature HealthCARE has 56 full and part-time Chaplains throughout its 65 locations along the southeastern United States.

The interfaith Signature Chaplain Program meets the spiritual needs of residents, employees and family members through a non-denominational approach of love and respecting all faiths.

Signature Chaplains strive not only to connect to the heart and experience of the resident, employee and family member, but work across different cultures, customs, and faith groups as well. They offer an abundance of love, hope and encouragement through listening, prayer, one-on-one interaction, worship activities and other modes of fellowship. Chaplains are connected to the community in an effort to provide additional resources and spiritual leadership to meet all requests and needs, and also partners with the facility’s clinical, social services, quality of life and therapy teams to enhance the overall healing process and wellness of residents. In this way, the Chaplain participates in the holistic quality of care Signature provides.

Dianne Timmering, V.P. of Spirituality states, “The Chaplains serve as God’s vessels, loving people through compassion, prayer, healing and hope. We work inside unending mercy, abounding joy, restorative peace, and hope in miracles.”

The interfaith Chaplain program meets the spiritual needs of Signature HealthCARE’s residents, employees and family members through a non-denominational approach of respecting all faiths. It is founded on the emotional and spiritual healing well of unconditional love.

E. Joseph Steier, III, President and CEO of Signature HealthCARE states, “Signature HealthCARE has developed a comprehensive interfaith spiritual program that is not religiously affiliated, but built for the residents and employees. This program is already changing outcomes including reducing employee turnover. We are already tracking miraculous healings (behavioral changes) due to the unique combination of spirituality, innovative clinicians and our love of our residents.”
