The South Florida Regional Extension Center (REC), established to promote and facilitate the adoption of electronic health records (EHR), has announced its vendor selections to provide hardware and software to physicians and health care providers in eight Florida counties from Key West to Ft. Pierce.
Funded through the Office of National Coordinator of Health Information Technology and coordinated by a collaboration of health organizations, the nonprofit South Florida REC has already enrolled 450 physicians and hopes to eventually serve 2,500 with assessment, qualified hardware and software vendors, cost discounts, training, support and maintenance.
The medical technology companies selected are: Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Epic, GE Healthcare, Greenway Medical Technology, IOS Health Systems, McKesson Provider Technologies, NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Sage Software Healthcare and SuccessEHS. The companies manufacture the nation’s leading medical practice management systems and were selected from more than 40 applicants.
