South Miami Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants is the first hospital in Florida and the second in the country to earn two maternity-related Joint Commission Gold Seals of Approval at the same time: one for pre-term labor and one for prematurity. Among U.S. hospitals, South Miami Hospital is the sixth to be certified for preterm labor and ninth to be certified for prematurity.
 
The Center for Women & Infants also has achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), the leading association promoting minimally invasive gynecologic surgery among surgeons worldwide.
