With the acquisition of Curve Image Guided Surgery and the Zeiss Kinevo Microscope System, the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital Neurosurgeons Now Possess Command and Control Center for Information-Guided Surgery
St. Mary’s Medical Center and Palm Beach Children’s Hospital are proud to launch a new pediatric neurosurgery program. With the recruitment of two fellowship-trained, pediatric neurosurgeons, and the new Curve Image Guided Surgery equipment, along with the Zeiss Kinevo Microscope by Brainlab, the program offers some of the most innovative neurosurgery procedures to help detect and remove tumors and other central nervous system disorders.

Curve features the latest image guidance software, powering advanced 3D displays and hallmark Brainlab image enrichment. This innovative technology allows hyper-efficient image updating when tracking instruments, which promotes intra-operative confidence.
Additionally, the Brainlab software with augmented reality and heads up display paired with the Zeiss Kinevo Microscope System can accommodate neurosurgeons needs in both the traditional approach of looking through the ocular as well as the more recent utilization of exoscope video images displayed on the dedicated screen.
“Using this technology allows us the peace of mind that we have the precise calculations needed to isolate only the tumor or area that needs correction, while leaving healthy tissue unaffected.
