August 12, 2026 – Board-certified family medicine physician Steven Vassil, D.O., has joined Baptist Health Primary Care. He provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, with professional interests in preventive medicine, lifestyle optimization, chronic disease management and building long-term relationships through evidence-based outpatient care.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Vassil completed his family medicine residency at the Baptist Health South Florida–Florida International University Family Medicine Residency Program, where he cared for a diverse patient population and supervised medical students through Florida International University’s NeighborhoodHELP Program. Before medical school, he served as a project manager and emergency department scribe with ScribeAmerica.

Dr. Vassil earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clearwater, Fla. He earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., graduating cum laude, and completed his family medicine residency at the Baptist Health South Florida–Florida International University Family Medicine Residency Program in Miami. He is board-certified in family medicine and has served in resident leadership roles with the Graduate Medical Education Committee and House Staff Advisory Committee. He also previously served as student director for the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.
