Respected longtime Palm Beach County-based surgeon joins TGH Cancer Institute’s nationally acclaimed team in the Palm Beaches and on the Treasure Coast.
January 22, 2026 – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Cancer Institute welcomes respected and highly experienced, board-certified breast surgeon Donna H. Kleban, MD, FACS, to its practice, effective January 1.
Kleban has practiced in Palm Beach County for more than 30 years. She specializes in treating patients with benign and malignant breast disease, utilizing a variety of techniques, including cryoablation of breast tumors, in-office biopsies under mammogram and ultrasound imaging, genetic testing, high-risk surveillance, intraoperative radiation therapy, and oncoplastic surgery.
“Dr. Kleban is an accomplished surgeon with extensive experience serving patients in Palm Beach County,” said Dr. Robert Scoma, a thoracic surgical oncologist in West Palm Beach and Wellington who leads TGH Cancer Institute. “Her depth of knowledge will help expand the revolutionary care we provide our patients. We are thrilled to have her join our practice.”
Kleban earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Brussels Medical School in Brussels, Belgium. She completed her general surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she held the distinction of serving as chief resident in surgery and as an instructor in surgery.
She has served as a principal investigator for multiple research clinical trials for breast cancer. These include a scanning system to detect malignancy in mammography in patients age 50 and younger, and the evaluation of cryo-assisted localization (CAL) versus needle-wire localization (NWL) for breast lumpectomy.
Kleban is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Breast Cancer Task Force of the American Cancer Society, the American Board of Surgery, the American Society of Breast Disease and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
