On June 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lee Health invites the community to visit Lee Health Coconut Point to learn more about breast health and services available at Lee Health. Complete your routine mammogram with accepted insurance, and follow it up with essential oil make-and-take, chair massages, and samples of food from the teaching kitchen.
Screening mammograms for breast cancer are recommended every year for all women starting at 40 years old or earlier if there is a family history of breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, about 310,720 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women this year. Outcomes improve with early detection.
Classes will be available to help attendees learn about various health and wellness resources from the Lee Health Coconut Point – Healthy Life Center, including nutrition for breast cancer prevention and a gratitude workshop. The Pink Heals fire truck will also be on-site to celebrate survivors, honor that in the battle with breast cancer, and remember the heroes.
