11 South Florida LGBTQ+ specific programs and initiatives receive financial support
Wilton Manors – November 4, 2024 – The Our Fund Foundation announced it will award $200,000 in grants through its 2024 LGBTQ+ Health & Wellness Fund in support of innovative LGBTQ+-specific programs and initiatives in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The grants which fund life-changing projects will be distributed among 11 remarkable nonprofits during a reception at Our Fund’s headquarters in Wilton Manors on Tuesday, November 19.
“With Florida’s anti-LGBTQ and anti-equality laws continuing to inflict harm on our community, it’s more imperative than ever to provide responsive, relevant, and impactful grantmaking,” said David Jobin, president & CEO of The Our Fund Foundation. “We are beyond grateful to our generous donors and legacy members who continue to provide financial resources in support of projects that help shape our community into a healthier and more equitable place.”

Alliance for LGBTQ+ Youth
Comprehensive Mental Health Support for LGBTQ Youth
The Alliance for LGBTQ+ Youth’s project provides 145+ LGBTQ+ youth with free comprehensive mental and care coordination services.
Alzheimer’s Association – Aging with Pride
The Aging with Pride project will bring together community partners who serve the LGBTQ+ community for educational events about brain health.
Buddy System MIA – Trans Food Assistance Program
The Trans Food Assistance Program is a monthly free food delivery program for food-insecure transgender or gender non-conforming individuals in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Chainless Change
Peers Optimistically Working to End Recidivism (POWER)
A Black/LGBTQ-led organization, Chainless Change provides peer support, resources, and leadership development opportunities for 35+ justice-involved QTPOC yearly.
Jewish Community Services of South Florida
Lambda Living Program
JCCSF’s Aging with Pride project provides services and connections to isolated LGBTQ+ seniors in Miami-Dade.
Sunshine Cathedral
Sunshine Cathedral Food Sharing
The Food Sharing Outreach housed at Sunshine Cathedral assists those who are food insecure in the LGBTQ+ and HIV+ communities.
The McKenzie Project – HOTS (House of the South)
The HOTS program aims to provide accessible, affirming, and supportive housing in South Florida for TGNCNB+ individuals at risk for HIV.

Sisters in Health & Unity
Sisters in Health & Unity addresses the impact of HIV on Black women by fostering trust-based conversations, community building, and self-care
The Pride Center at Equality Park – Women with Pride Health Connections
Women with Pride Health Connections will provide holistic wellness resources, linkage, and events to enhance the bio-psycho-social health of LBT women.
Ujima Men’s Collective – Tapestry: Reclaiming Our Past
Tapestry: Reclaiming Our Past is designed to bridge the intergenerational LGBTQ gap and address senior isolation in People of Color populations.

Youth & Family Resilience Initiatives
YES’s Youth & Family Resilience Initiatives provide effective tools and strategic resources to prevent youth bullying, self-harm, and suicide.
