May 11, 2926 – Caregivers at Broward Health celebrated Mother’s Day by welcoming several newborns at Maternity Place at Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs, marking meaningful moments for growing families across Broward County.

One of the first moms to deliver at Broward Health Medical Center was Tameika Morton, who welcomed baby JaMir at 6:16 a.m. on May 11, 2026.

Alongside Wayne Larson, M.D., an obstetrics-gynecologist at Broward Health Medical Center, Tameika delivered a healthy baby boy at 39 weeks, weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

JaMir is also one of the first babies born in Broward Health Medical Center’s newly renovated Maternity Place Labor & Delivery Unit.

In a full-circle moment at Broward Health Coral Springs, Coconut Creek resident Angilee Jabar welcomed her first child, baby Zakai, 23 years after she was born at the same hospital. She was delivered by Mitchell Feldman, M.D., an obstetrics-gynecologist at Broward Health Coral Springs, the same physician who delivered her more than two decades ago.

Throughout her pregnancy, Angilee had a smooth, healthy journey supported by our dedicated maternity care team. When the time came, although Dr. Feldman was not on call, he made a special trip to the hospital to personally deliver her baby, continuing a tradition of care he had provided to her family for more than two decades.

Her delivery was quick and seamless. Angilee celebrated her first Mother’s Day with her healthy baby boy. As a new mom, she described the experience as “the best feeling ever,” sharing that welcoming her son had been everything she hoped for and more.
