While speaking with my grandson Karter the other day, he calmly informed me I was actually talking to Billy. It seems Billy rides on his back and never does anything wrong. He doesn’t even bite his sister Kenzie! He went on to tell me about Boy who lives in his legs and makes him the best runner at camp. Well, before you all start e-mailing me the latest treatment protocols for multiple personalities – Karter is only 2 1/2 years old.

(So please check your serious, politically correct personas at the door and listen to my latest idea – maybe we all need a dose of multiple personalities.)

My first alter-ego would be Charlie – the completely organized and focused healthcare professional who never blows off an appointment in lieu of a trip to CompUSA. Charlie would never double book clients because he forgot to sync his I-Phone with his Outlook. And finally, Charlie would never steal an important file off Carol’s desk and then deposit it into the black hole that Carol has aptly named HCHA – The Honda Civic Hybrid Abyss!

Next up would be Chuck – the super athletic, suave and debonair hunk who would never order a double side of French fries and baked beans. Chuck would jog with Gabby everyday, walk the beach each night, and do bench presses in the hours in between. (Obviously, Chuck is Carol’s creation. I thought I was already suave and debonair!)

And then how could I forget Lotion Boy … who only emerges on cruises. Lotion Boy is the one who oils up ready and willing fellow cruisers. Lotion Boy also would patent his fashion-friendly fanny pack which dispenses just the right amount of suntan lotion complete with the perfect SPF. And needless to say, it also would have room for Charles’ ever-present I-Phone

Of course, when confronted with the prospect of Charlie, Chuck, Lotion Boy and good old Charles, Carol had only one question. If she kills me – will she be considered a serial murderer??
