National Nurses Month is recognized each May, but the compassion, dedication and talent nurses bring to their work deserve to be celebrated year-round.

At Cleveland Clinic, we’re proud to spotlight a few of the exceptional nurses who embody the commitment and heart of our hospital community, while knowing countless others make a difference every day.

Meet Brynne, Gabriella and Hanna.

Brynne

With a keen eye for details, Brynne knew from a young age that she was destined to become a nurse. At just 10 years old, she was already fascinated by the human body, pointing out where the appendix was located and taking interest in the unique features that make each person different.

Today, that curiosity has come full circle. Brynne has spent nearly a year as a nurse in the Surgical ICU at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital. She values the interdisciplinary collaboration that defines the organization and finds fulfillment in watching patients recover and return to full health after some of their most critical moments.

Gabriella

For Gabriella, the Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital offers exactly what she was looking for: a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where no two days are the same. Just eight months into her role, she credits her team’s support and collaboration for helping her grow with confidence as a new graduate nurse while navigating a new environment.

Her journey into nursing was inspired by a deeply personal experience after witnessing the care her grandparents received at Cleveland Clinic. Known for her ability to stay calm under pressure, Gabriella brings compassion and steadiness to patients during some of their most challenging moments.

Hanna

Passion is at the heart of Hanna’s approach to nursing. As a first-generation college graduate, her decision to pursue this path was shaped by a personal experience. When her cousin, who was born healthy, experienced a medical error as an infant that resulted in life-long challenges, her family stepped in as his caregivers. Today, at 38 years old, despite life’s obstacles, his resilience and warmth continue to inspire her despite the obstacles he’s faced throughout his life.

Now six months into her role as an Emergency Department nurse at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, Hanna carries that inspiration into her daily work. She is a strong advocate for compassionate care during times of stress and uncertainty, not only for patients, but for their families, as someone who knows all too well what it means to be in their shoes during life’s hardest moments.
